Rates for Non-University of Washington Field Trips

A field trip consists of instructors with a group of students, visiting FHL as part of a credited course or program.

All charges are subject to 8.1% Sales Tax.

Housing (per unit)

Participants are charged for housing according to unit prices listed for researchers.  Field Trip students will generally be assigned to shared (double) dorm rooms or huts. However if dorms/huts are not available, they will be assigned to shared cottages. To allow organizers to budget reliably for student expenses, FHL will honor the shared dorm room rate ($32/night), regardless of where students may ultimately be housed.

Fees (per participant – Student, Instructor, TA, & Organizer)

A. Field Trip using meeting spaces and FHL grounds, but not research facilities (e.g. lab spaces), total per participant:

  • Daily $8
  • Weekly $46
  • Monthly $145

B. Field Trip using Research Facilities (e.g. lab spaces), total per participant:

  • Daily $28
  • Weekly $155
  • Monthly $491

Full Meal Plans:

  • Non-Students: $55/day
  • Students: $46/day

Boat Use

  • For RV Kittiwake and ROV rates, please contact Captain Jakob Bueche.
  • Rowboats2: free of charge
  1. A student is any person enrolled in a university, college, or K-12 school.
  2. Use of rowboats requires a rowboat orientation. For orientations scheduled after hours, there is a $58 charge. For more information, please contact Kristy Kull.
