Conferences, Field Trips, Workshops, Retreats, and other Groups at FHL

Located on a forested preserve along the quiet shores of San Juan Island, with facilities that include abundant housing, meeting rooms, and a full-service Dining Hall, FHL is the ideal venue for conferences, workshops, and retreats. Additionally, class laboratories and a stockroom with student microscopes, lab glassware, and other small equipment make FHL a popular destination for field trips and short courses from universities around the country.

While academic groups receive priority, FHL sometimes hosts weddings, social gatherings, and other events not directly related to a teaching, research or public service program of the University.  Permission for non-academic events may be granted to current FHL students, faculty, researchers, and staff, or to other applicants provided they have a sponsor who is FHL faculty, research or staff.

Groups may apply to visit FHL from September through May, with applications accepted up to one year in advance. Please note that March and September are our busiest months for conferences and those dates fill up quickly. Our quietest months are December through February.
