FHL is offering three programs in Autumn 2020, all targeted to undergraduates and post-baccalaureates:
- Autumn Marine Studies (AMS)
- Pelagic Ecosystem Function Research Apprenticeship (PEF)
- Marine Sedimentary Processes (MSP)
Important Dates for Autumn Quarter:
- Classes begin Wednesday, Sept. 30th and end Friday, December 11th, 2020
- Students should plan to arrive on Monday, Sept. 28th after 12:00.
- Students should plan to depart between 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 11th and 9:00 am on Saturday, December 12th.
- First meal for students is dinner served on Monday, Sept. 28th.
- Last meal for students is breakfast served on Saturday, December 12th.
Autumn Marine Studies (AMS)
For Autumn Marine Studies, students select a combination of courses from the following selection (for a minimum of 12 total credits):
- Introductory Biology (BIOL 180, 5 credits)
- Marine Biology (FISH/OCEAN/BIOL 250, 5 credits)
- Introduction to Research in Marine Biology (FHL 350, 6 credits)
- Marine Mammals of the Salish Sea (FHL 375, 5 credits)
- Science Writing for Diverse Audiences (FHL 333, 3 or 5 credits)
- Research in Marine Biology (FHL 470, 6 credits)
- Comparative Anatomy & Physiology of Marine Organisms (FHL/BIOL 471, 5 credits)
- Marine Sciences Seminar (FHL 490, 1 credit)
