Research in Marine Biology

This course is offered as part of Autumn Marine Studies 2020.

In this course, you will get a hands-on introduction to “doing science.” Students will develop research projects in close collaboration with a supervisor that will involve lab experiments and/or field work in the local marine habitats of the San Juan Islands. The students will work with mentors to develop questions related to ocean change and human impacts on the marine environment. The course will also include lectures and class activities to help students collect, analyze, and present data. Students will gain experience with collaboration, authorship, grant-writing, and professional conduct. Throughout the course students will develop writing and presentation skills.
