These rates apply to any expenses that are not paid on a UW budget, regardless of a person’s UW affiliation. They are higher than budget rates because the University of Washington adds institutional overhead.

**All visitors on campus will be charged Dining Dollars, with the exception of family members accompanying researchers/scholars and not using FHL facilities.
10 Day Cancellation Policy
If you would like to cancel all or part of your stay, please notify the Whiteley & Office Manager in writing at least 10 days before the first date to be cancelled. For any dates cancelled fewer than 10 days in advance, FHL will charge 20% of estimated expenses and any fees.
If after departure, additional staff time is required for cleaning a housing unit or lab space beyond what is ordinarily needed, you will be billed for extra time at a rate of $57.20 + tax/hour.
Housing and Associated Fees
Prices include Tech Fee and use of the Whiteley Study Center. We are no longer charging a separate, per-person Facility Use Fee.
Bedding: Housing rates include sheets, a pillow with pillowcase, blanket and a towel per bed. Weekly linen exchange (on Fridays, 8-8:30 am) is provided free of charge.
Dining Dollars: those staying in Whiteley Cottages for four or more days will be issued and charged for Dining Dollars equivalent in value to two dinners per week. Dining Dollars may be used toward any food or beverage in the Dining Hall. All meals must be reserved in advance; see our Dining page for more information. NOTE: WHILE WE ARE OPERATING UNDER COVID-19 PROCEDURES, we are not issuing (or charging for) Dining Dollars; the Dining Hall is only open to FHL course students on full meal plans.
