Others: Read on & follow the menu items on the right for more information.

The First Step

Submit a Visitor/Researcher Application or, for Whiteley Scholars, a Whiteley Application. This is necessary even for instructors/TAs/mentors for FHL courses, apprenticeships, and internships, as it informs the Visitors Coordinator of arrival/departure dates, type of housing preferred, and number of accompanying family members.

Upon receiving an application, the Visitor Coordinator will contact you to discuss a reservation for housing and research facilities. After your stay has been confirmed, refer to these pages (menu items on the right) for answers to your questions about staying and working at FHL: from where to go when you arrive, whom to contact in emergencies, and the rules for rowboat use to how to check out items from the stockroom and use the FHL computers.

Hours

Staff in the Front Office, Stockroom, and Computer Lab are generally available Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm. On evenings, weekends, and holidays, they are not available to assist visitors, take payments, or receive/send out mail and packages. Please plan accordingly. For urgent after-hour requests, you may call the FHL caretakers (see below).
