OCEAN 210 | Spring 2018

Integrative Oceans 2018

Credits: 4

Instructor(s): Dr. James W. Murray

Prerequisites:

This course is offered as part of the Marine Biology Quarter at FHL in Spring, 2018.

The objectives of this course are to learn the patterns of, and processes that cause, the large scale distribution of properties in the ocean. These include physical, biological, chemical and geological processes that are integrated over temporal and spatial scales. We use observations (data) to answer oceanographic questions quantitatively (problem solving skills). Our goals are to learn basic distributions, understand those patterns. utilize simple calculations, and understand ocean and climate change.

Integrative Oceanography (OCN210) will be taught by Dr. James Murray from the University of Washington, School of Oceanography.

This course is required for the UW Marine Biology major and minor.

Textbook to be determined.
