FHL Stockroom Services for Outbound Parcels

With sufficient notice, FedEx, UPS, and USPS will pick up outbound packages from FHL on weekdays. To arrange for a pick up, FHL residents should place a request with the Stockroom Manager in advance and after receiving confirmation, drop off their ready-to-go, prepaid and labeled package in the Stockroom (see our Stockroom Procedures for notification and drop-off deadlines).

Those sending parcels are expected to pack up, weigh, and measure their own parcels. A mailing scale and ruler are available for use in the Stockroom, as are boxes, packaging materials, and packing tape.

FHL residents must affix their own prepaid labels on their outgoing packages (e.g. using USPS Click-N-Ship).

For parcels that have been packed up, weighed, and measured, the Stockroom can create FedEx labels if and only if:

  1. The shipping is being charged to a University of Washington budget, in which case FHL can put it on the UW FedEx account OR
  2. The FedEx label is being created on the researcher’s own FedEx account, and the researcher provides the Stockroom Manager with the account login information, with which she will create the label.

FHL cannot ship out on the UW FedEx account to be reimbursed by card, check, or cash.
