So sad to share the news that Eugene Kozloff passed away at Lighthouse Memory Care in Anacortes yesterday.

Among his many achievements, Koz came to the UW FHL in 1966 and remained here until 2007. During that time, his roles included instructor of ZooBots and Resident Associate Director along with many others. He was widely admired for his breadth of knowledge and tremendous sense of humor.

Koz had a wonderful life, living to 96 years and touching the lives of so many people – the public, FHL students and faculty. We will all miss his knowledge, his wit, and his research.

All our love to Koz and his family!

Here are some recent articles that was published in Tide Bite about Koz with wonderful photos. And you can read his obituary in Skagit Valley Herald.

We have established the EUGENE N KOZLOFF ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP at FHL so that his legacy lives on.  A new generation of students will learn about the natural history of FHL and the San Juan Islands and then they will continue to educate the following generations.
