The REU-Blinks Summer Internship Program at FHL
The REU-Blinks Summer Internship program at FHL, funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the FHL Blinks Endowment, offers hands-on, full-immersion summer research internships to 12-15 motivated undergraduates and post-baccalaureates. Participants in the program work 1:1 with a marine scientist on a full-time basis for eight weeks, learning both the process and the substance of scientific research. Mentors in turn receive full-time assistance from a motivated student for their research at FHL, as well as the rewards of enriching the student with a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Apply
Researchers are invited to submit a proposal to mentor a summer intern. Email the mentor application elements listed below to the REU Coordinator by December 15th for the following year’s summer internship. ***Mentors will also need to fill out an FHL Researcher Application for 2023 once the application is live. Potential mentors will be made aware once this application is live.
If your proposed REU project is approved, it will be posted as an option for REU applicants. If an intern is ultimately assigned to your project, FHL will provide you and the student with laboratory space free of charge, and will provide the intern with a structured program of activities.
