Jenny Roberts was the program director for 20 years. She has been the energy behind this terrific Science Outreach Program. She developed, designed and taught the science outreach projects for each grade in the San Juan Island Public Schools (K-12) and Spring Street International School (5-12). All the projects focus on students being involved in the process of science. |

David, with his wife Megan Dethier, began the Marine Science Outreach Program in 1997. Beginning with a saltwater aquarium (now in the elementary school hallway) the program now reaches every grade, K-12. |

Rachel Anderson

Rachel Anderson was instrumental in providing the K-12 program with the funding it needed to operate. Her connections with the community of San Juan Island were essential for growing the program to what it is today. |

Kari Koski

Kari worked for FHLSOP for 3.5 years and continues to help out as an educator. She did a great job developing the “Know the Kelps and Algae” project and the “Whale Adventure Days”. |

Margo worked for FHLSOP for 3 years. She was an amazing organizer and did a fantastic job developing the Oceanography and Watershed classes for SJISD’a alternative school Griffin Bay. |

Alana Hysert devoted 6 years of time and effort towards this program. She was a tremendous help in the initial development of the FHLSOP projects and designing this website. Alana taught at the California Academy of Science in San Francisco before returning to the northwest. |
