With this 72nd Tide Bite I am delighted to continue the tradition that Billie Swalla started in 2013.  I am the Interim Director at FHL; if you’d like to read a bit more about my background and philosophy, you can do so here.

This is an especially fitting topic for my first Tide Bite because I have known and worked with Tom Mumford for decades – he was on the reading committee for my dissertation! – and I love teaching with him here each Spring quarter.  Right now FHL is packed full with 4 courses, a vibrant REU program and many summer researchers.  It feels great to have the place buzzing with activity!
