It’s April and Spring has arrived!!
The wet winter has catalyzed the daffodils, and they are out in numbers on the island. At FHL, the UW students are a week into either ZooBots or the Marine Biology Quarter. The UW students join CORALS from Cornell University and Three Seas students from Northeastern to make for a busy and industrious Spring Quarter. We look forward to another busy season at FHL!
This month’s Tide Bite describes mapping sea grass beds in Fidalgo Bay, work done by Gary Greene, Sandy Wyllie-Echeverria and their collaborators. Two of the authors, Soren Huber and Olivia Graham, are at FHL this Spring continuing their marine research. This kind of mapping can be used to understand large changes going on in the environment over time.
