Program Options
1. Spring Marine Studies (SMS)
For the SMS program, students select a combination of courses for a minimum of 12 total credits:
- Introductory Biology (BIOL 180, 5 credits)
- Integrative Oceans (OCEAN 210, 4 credits) – lectures remote, quiz section in person.
- Natural History of the Salish Sea (FHL 275, 5 credits)
- Science Writing for Diverse Audiences (FHL 333, 3 or 5 credits)
- Marine Mammals of the Salish Sea (FHL 375, 5 credits)
- Marine Sciences Seminar (FHL 490, 1 credit)
2. Zoo-Bot Program (ZBP)
**The 2021 Zoo-Bot Program is full, and no longer accepting applications.**
For the Zoo-Bot Program, students participate in the following 3 required courses, plus optional Marine Sciences Seminar, for a total of 16 or 17 credits:
- (mandatory) Zoobot Quarter Program (FHL 430/BIOL 430, FHL 440/BIOL 445, AND FHL 470)
- (optional) Marine Sciences Seminar (FHL 490, 1 credit)

Both programs and are targeted to undergraduates and post-baccalaureates.
Important Dates:
- Classes begin Monday, March 29 and end Friday, June 4, 2021 (10 weeks)
- Students should plan to arrive Sunday, March 28 after 3:00 p.m.
- Students should plan to depart anytime after 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 4 but no later than Saturday, June 5 after breakfast.
- First meal served is dinner on Sunday, March 28, tentatively 6:00-6:30 p.m.
- Last meal for students is breakfast served on Saturday, June 5, 7:45-8:15 a.m.
