Above costs are for one summer quarter. FHL offers summer courses for both Summer A and Summer B quarters. All students are provided, at no cost, two flat sheets (fitted sheets not available), a pillow with pillowcase, two blankets and towel. Sheets and towels may be exchanged for clean items once per week in the FHL Laundry Room Building, located next to the FHL Dining Hall.

Only one registration fee of $45 will be charged for students who take a course in Summer A and Summer B consecutively in the same year.

You will need to make two separate payments as follows:

  • Tuition, Registration Fee and Lab Fee to be paid to UW Professional & Continuing Education (UWPCE), due no later than one week before classes begin: $3195 for a 400-level course, $4195 for a 500-level course. Students will receive a UWCPE Registration Form from FHL listing the amount due to UWPCE.
  • Room & Board Fee to be paid to FHL by check, MC/Visa credit card or debit card, preferably paid prior to arriving at FHL but no later than two days after classes begin.

Room costs include two flat sheets (fitted sheets are not available), a pillow with pillowcase, two blankets and a towel.  A weekly linen exchange at a designated day, time and place is included.

UW students with dorm contracts in Seattle should cancel their application and dorm assignment in Seattle within one week of confirming their attendance at Friday Harbor Labs. Log into the UW Housing & Food Services Application and Assignment Home Page and submit an Agreement Termination Notice (located under the Resident Resources header for the relevant academic year). On the HFS form, to answer the question “Where are you moving to?” please select the choice “off-campus house/apartment.”
